International Yoga Day Celebration

 International Yoga Day Celebration: Yoga is unity of 'aatma' with the 'parmatma'. It's the unity of mind,body and soul.

VKV Golaghat in association with Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Golaghat branch celebrated International Yoga Day on 21st June,2024. Principal, Achintya Goswami sir welcomed the gathering speaking on the significance of the day. A detailed speech was delivered by teacher, Manoj Kr. Jha about the importance of adopting Yoga in daily life for students. Yoga demonstration was conducted where everyone participated in various Asanas ,Suryanamaskar and Pranayama. The event was attended by 150 people comprising students of class VI-VIII, teachers and Karyakartas of VK Kanyakumari, Golaghat branch.
The programme ended with light refreshment distribution among all.

77th Independence Day

We bow our heads and offer tribute to the freedom fighters of India for whom we , Indians stand tall and proud as an Independent nation.. VKV Golaghat joins celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and offered salute to the Tiranga at this momentous occasion. Happy 77th Independence Day !

Mathematics Day,2022

     

Mathematics Day was celebrated on 22 nd December ,2022 on the occasion of birth anniversary of the mathematics genius Srinivasan Iyengar Ramanujan. Like every year, this year also on his 136 th birth anniversary, the vidyalaya celebrated National Mathematics Day and conducted many activities to promote love and interest for math.

Children Day,2022

 Children's Day Celebration at the school to commemorate 133rd Birth Anniversary of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru.The teachers of the school put up a cultural fiesta for the students and the day ended with Football match among boys and Handball match among girls. The day was filled with fun and galore.

The program started with flag hosting by Principal Achintya Goswami . Then he addressed the gathering present there.

VKV Golaghat celebrates 72nd Republic Day!
This particular day is a solemn reminder of sacrifice of the martyrs who died for the country in the freedom movement and the succeeding wars for the defense of sovereignty of our country.
Let us hope that the patriotic fervor of the people will bring the whole country together even in her indispensable diversity.. Jai Hind!!

CHILDREN’S DAY



To mark 130th birth anniversary of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru , Children’s day was celebrated on 14th November, 2019 with great fun and vigor at VKV Golaghat . The teachers conducted the morning assembly for both primary and secondary classes. 

The day marked competitions among students ranging from literary competitions such as creative writing and book reading to the yearly football match between Secondary and Senior Secondary classes. The girls of classes 7 to 10 also indulged themselves in a friendly handball match. The primary children were shown an animated movie. They were also entertained by vibrant programs put forward by the students of class V and class VIII.

After the wrapping up of football match, the teachers served Kheer and Laddoo to all the students in the tiffin break. The afternoon assembly was filled with students from the secondary section to enjoy the cultural celebration. The teachers entertained the students with chorus, dance, drama etc. Class XII, the winner of the football match was awarded trophy along with 4 best players. Overall, the teachers tried their best to provide a gala time to all the students.

GANDHI JAYANTI & SHASHTRI JAYANTI


On the occasion of Gandhi & Shastri Jayanti 2nd October, 2019 our Vidyalaya organized a few programs like Cleanliness Drive and Drawing Competition among the students of class VI to XI.



Around 100 students were present and all of them participated in cleanliness drive with the guidance of teachers. They were engaged in cleaning the School Campus, Art Gallery and uncle Robin Banerjee Museum. Few students were participated in drawing competition. A short program was conducted by the girls of class VIII (Anand), which was initiated by a speech from student side as well as teacher side followed by a group song. By 11:30 AM all programmes were over and the celebration was ended with Shanti Path.

UNIVERSAL BROTHERHOOD DAY



VKV Golaghat celebrated UNIVERSAL BROTHERHOOD DAY with great zeal and ardour on 11 September,2019 to commemorate 126th  year of Swamiji's epoch making speech in Chicago. Dr.Dilip Goswami, Retd. Principal In Charge, HPB Girls' College, Golaghat, Saha Sanchalak, Vivekananda Kendra,Golaghat Sakha graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. 

Few other dignitaries like Dr Shovarani Sarmah,Prant Pramukh,Vivekananda Kendra,Assam Prant along with other guests  were also present. There was a brief programme which included poetry recitation, reenactment of Swamiji's Speeech and a song. 
With an objective to spread Swamiji's message, the school also organised an Inter School Extempore Speech Competition and the topics were related to Swamiji's life, ideals, his guru Ramakrishna Paramhansa, Shila Smarak etc. to name a few. 


Around 300 students were present which included participants and escort teachers from other schools on that day. The winners were awarded a set of  books and certificate of merit and  the participants were also given a book and certificate of participation.

TEACHERS DAY


The special occasion of Teachers' Day was celebrated with great vigour and joy, in VKV Golaghat on 5th September 2019. The celebration was commemorated with an assembly conducted by the teaching fraternity.

To celebrate the importance of the occasion the students of class 10 were earmarked the responsibility of conducting classes for Class 6 to 9. The cultural programme commenced at the auditorium at around 12:30pm starting with the felicitation of five retired teachers from Golaghat who served the society by teaching and building lives of others.

The students of class 10th & 12th  performed splendid dance and chorus sessions. The programme ended with the chanting of the Shanti Mantra.

SANKARDEV TITHI



Mahapurush Shrimanta Shankardev Tithi was celebrated on 2nd  September,2019. Speech on Mahapurush Shankardev Tithi was delivered followed by a brief cultural programme. 

The highlight of the celebration was an Inter House Borgeet Competition which was held during the day.

JANMASHTAMI CELEBRATION



To mark the birthday of Lord Krishna on 24th of August 2019, the primary children came in colourful dresses indicating the various characters of Bala Krishna.

The program started with Manglacharan and lightening of the Diya.

The students of class iii welcomed the gathering with their excellent performance. Fancy dress competition was also held with the theme based on Janmastami.
Dharitri didi explained about the significance of the programme.

INDEPENDENCE DAY AND RAKSHA BANDHAN


Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Golaghat celebrated 73rd Independence Day with great pride by hoisting the Tricolour followed by speech and patriotic song. Su.Meera didi, Prant Sangathak, Assam Prant delivered an inspiring speech to the students. In connection with the occasion, a Go as You like Competition was organised for tiny-tots. The tiny tots were decked up in the attire of freedom fighters and national heroes.


The school also celebrated Raksha Bandhan on the same day. The children tied self-made Rakhis and celebrated the ceremony with joy.

PADMASHRI DR ROBIN BANERJEE JAYANTI


Dr. Robin Banerjee's birth anniversary was celebrated by Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Golaghat along with Kaziranga Wildlife Society on 12th August, 2019.



On this occasion, Sixth Dr Robin Banerjee Memorial lecture was organised by Kaziranga Wildlife Society on the topic: 'Threats and Challenges in Conservation of Mega Species with reference to Kaziranga' at Uncle Robin's Natural History Museum, adjacent to the school. 


Eminent Elephant expert, Dr. Kushal Sarma, Professor, College of Veterinary Science, Guwahati, Shri Shiv Kumar, Director, Kaziranga National Park, Shri Anupam Sarma, Wildlife Expert and other noted dignitaries graced the occasion and deliberated on the topic. Simultaneously, an eye camp was organised at VKV Golaghat by Lions Eye Hospital where 53 patients were treated for free.
