JANMASHTAMI CELEBRATION



To mark the birthday of Lord Krishna on 24th of August 2019, the primary children came in colourful dresses indicating the various characters of Bala Krishna.

The program started with Manglacharan and lightening of the Diya.

The students of class iii welcomed the gathering with their excellent performance. Fancy dress competition was also held with the theme based on Janmastami.
Dharitri didi explained about the significance of the programme.

INDEPENDENCE DAY AND RAKSHA BANDHAN


Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Golaghat celebrated 73rd Independence Day with great pride by hoisting the Tricolour followed by speech and patriotic song. Su.Meera didi, Prant Sangathak, Assam Prant delivered an inspiring speech to the students. In connection with the occasion, a Go as You like Competition was organised for tiny-tots. The tiny tots were decked up in the attire of freedom fighters and national heroes.


The school also celebrated Raksha Bandhan on the same day. The children tied self-made Rakhis and celebrated the ceremony with joy.

PADMASHRI DR ROBIN BANERJEE JAYANTI


Dr. Robin Banerjee's birth anniversary was celebrated by Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Golaghat along with Kaziranga Wildlife Society on 12th August, 2019.



On this occasion, Sixth Dr Robin Banerjee Memorial lecture was organised by Kaziranga Wildlife Society on the topic: 'Threats and Challenges in Conservation of Mega Species with reference to Kaziranga' at Uncle Robin's Natural History Museum, adjacent to the school. 


Eminent Elephant expert, Dr. Kushal Sarma, Professor, College of Veterinary Science, Guwahati, Shri Shiv Kumar, Director, Kaziranga National Park, Shri Anupam Sarma, Wildlife Expert and other noted dignitaries graced the occasion and deliberated on the topic. Simultaneously, an eye camp was organised at VKV Golaghat by Lions Eye Hospital where 53 patients were treated for free.

TEACHERS' ORIENTATION CAMP 2019



A three day residential orientation camp was organised by VKSPV on 'Project Based Learning' for the teachers of VKVs from Assam and Nagaland at VKV Golaghat from 31st  July to 3rd  August, 2019.
The camp was attended by 148 participants which included Principals/Vice Principals, members of the organising team and the officials of VKSPV.

Annual School magazine Darpan was inaugurated on this occasion.
