A
two day 'Ganit Mela' organised on the occasion of 37th Annual Congress
of Assam Academy of Mathematics(AAM) held at VKV Golaghat. Many events
and competitions were conducted by AAM, Golaghat in association with VKV
Golaghat where many schools from the state participated and made it a
success. Exhibitions, Model Making,Maths Rally,Quiz Competition,
Extempore Speech Competition,Maths Race,Sudoku etc. were conducted for
students, Workshops related to skills of teaching Mathematics
were conducted for teachers. Mobile Planetarium and Science Exhibition
on Wheels were another highlight to attract the interest of the
students. Dr.Nirala Devi, Director,SCERT graced the event as the Chief
Guest. Renowned wrangler, Dr.Anupam Saikia,IIT Guwahati delivered a
presentation. Many other eminent personalities from the field of
Mathematics like Tarakeswar Choudhury Sir graced the occasion with their
valuable presence. The event was a successful one which was held to
develop love and interest for Mathematics among students and consider
learning Maths as fun!
& Badminton to the tournament at National Level organised by School
Games Federation of India. Both will participate and represent Assam in
Delhi & Gwalior respectively in the month of June.
