CHILDREN'S DAY



The observance of the occasion of Children's Day was carried out on the 14th November in the VKV, Golaghat campus in a joyous and spirited manner.
Several activities and programmes formed the core of celebration with active participation from the students as well as the teacher's.

In the presence of our vice principal Dhan Pradhan Sir the celebration started with the students of class IV and V performing a group dance. This was then followed by a speech from Nitashree Didi as she laid emphasis on the importance of the occasion.

Next was a drama act performed by the students of class III, IV & V. An audio story telling act was then performed by the teacher's and this was followed by a group dance performance by the teacher's as well.

After the observation, a book reading competition and storytelling competition was organised for the secondary students (class VI to IX). After its completion an animated movie was then showcased for the primary children and the celebration of the momentous occasion concluded with a football match between teachers’ and students of class X & XI.

CBSE Sports Achievements


Sports is a very important part of the school curriculum in every student’s life. Contribution of sports in the field of one's all round development is of paramount importance. Going by this mantra the VKV Golaghat also encourages and strives for upliftment of its students in the field of sports. Therefore, it is a matter of great pride and honour for the entire VKV Golaghat fraternity to announce that in the recently concluded sports meet (Badminton, Swimming, Athletics& Table Tennis) the students have shone with flying colours.

 In the Athletics cluster meet held at South Point School, Barsapara, Gauhati from 20/9/18 to 23/9/18, Subhangana Gogoi(class 11) got 1st prize in 200m and 400m running event in the U17 category and was also adjudged the best athlete.

In the U17 category Nandini Chandak (class9) got 1st and 2nd prize respectively in 1500m and 800m event, Deepjyoti Bora(class 11) got 1st prize in the 200m event and Hritom Kashyap got 2nd prize in the 100m event. In the U14 category Kanandeep Kaur(class 7) got 2nd prize in the 100m event.

In the Table Tennis cluster meet held at DPS Nazira from 28/9/18 to 30/9/18 Mrinmoy Dutta(class8), Rayan Ahmed(class8) and Kumar Arnab(class7) got 3rd prize respectively.

 In the Badminton category( For east zone) held at  B.R.V Model School, Budaun, U.P from 2/10/18 to 6/10/18, Taniya Bordoloi (class9) and Deena Sabri(class8) won the first prize in U17 team event.

 In the Swimming category(For east zone) held at the same venue from 18/10/18 to 21/10/18, Essahan Bir Gogoi(class 8) got 2nd prize in the 100m and 50m breaststroke and 3rd prize in the freestyle and relay events. Adwik Hazarika (class5) got 1st prize in the 100mfreestyle and 50m breaststroke events and 2nd prize in the 200m in the IMR event. Furthermore, Toushif Rahman(class5), Anshumali Phukan (class8) and Anamitra Phukan(class 11) got 2nd prize, 2nd prize and 3rd prize respectively in the 50m freestyle, 200m freestyle and 50m backstroke events. Also in the U14 category the boy’s team got 3rd prize in the 4×100m medley relay event.
The VKV, Golaghat fraternity is immensely proud in this regards and wishes the well being of the students for their future endeavours.

GANDHI JAYANTI AND SHASTRI JAYANTI


The celebration of 'Gandhi Jayanti' and 'Shastri Jayanti' was carried out in the VKV Golaghat campus with profound joy and vigour. Going by the significance of the occasion, several initiatives, competitions and cultural programmes were conducted.

The commencement of the celebration was initiated by Principal Sir and Meghali Didi with Diya Prajwalan and Mangalacharan. This was followed by an arrangement of a cleanliness drive with participation of students from class 6 to class 11 along with the teacher's.


A speech on Gandhiji's events of life was then rendered by Nargis Parbin of class 8 following which an Inter House hindipatriotic song competition was organized and adjudicated by Meghali Didi and Pronami Didi.

Concluding this a speech on Shastriji's events of life was furnished by Kangkana Bharadwaj of class 8. After a brief interval an Inter House hindi patriotic song competition was organized and adjudicated by Meghali Didi and Pronami Didi. The celebration then concluded with the chanting of Shanti Mantra.

UNIVERSAL BROTHERHOOD DAY and TITHI OF SANKARDEVA


The 'Tithi of Sankardeva' and Universal Brotherhood Day was celebrated in the VKV, Golaghat premises with great joy and spirituality. The celebration of the occasion commenced with Kirtan path by Ratul Kalita Sir and Biren Sir.

Next followed a beautiful rendition of Borgeet by the students embracing the entire occasion. After this Ratul Kalita Sir delivered a speech emphasizing the celebration and importance of the day. Further followed an exquisite satriya dance performance by the students of class 6,7,8 and 9.

A song on swamiji was then performed by the students of 6,7,8 and 9. One of our students Kasturi Devi then delivered a speech concerning the occasion following which Lokgeet and Borgeet performances by the students were done. TEACHERS’ DAY



The auspicious occasion of Teacher's Day was conducted in the premises of VKV Golaghat with utmost joy. 

The programme commenced with the felicitation of former teacher's Padmeswar Gogoi,  Sir and Champa Devi alongwith a speech delivered by Padmeswar Sir. The students of class 10 (anand) brought forth a beautiful Assamese folk song gracing the occasion. Following this the felicitation of teachers and staff was conducted. 

After this followed a semi classical dance performance and Hindi song performance concluding which was a silent skit performance going by the theme 'Unity in Diversity'. Further followed a Garba Dance performance and a slideshow presentation of the teacher's. The ceremony concluded with a Bihu Dance performed by the students of class 10.

GANIT PRAJNA APPRECITION PROGRAMME

The prize distribution of Ganit Prajna Pariksha, an appreciation programme for the successful talents in the field of the mathematics organized for the students of Class 6, 7 & 8 was conducted in the premises of VKV Golaghat on 4th of August 2018. The Chief guests for the occasion were Prakhyat Duarah Sir and Akram Hussain from Salikhat Higher Secondary School. The programme started with a welcome speech by Vice principal, Dhan Pradhan. This was followed by a report presentation on the objective of Ganit Prajna Pariksha by Samhita Chanda. Next was a felicitation to the rank holders of the Ganit Prajna Pariksha. To the utmost delight of VKV Golaghat 4 students from class 6, 1 student from class 7 and 4 students from class 8 got rank in the examination and made the entire school proud. Certificates of consolation were also awarded to 57 students from class 6, 47 students from class 7 and 46 students from class 8.

JANMASHTAMI CELEBRATION


The festival of Janmashtami, widely popular as the day of incarnation of Lord Krishna, was celebrated in the premises of VKV, Golaghat with great vigour and utmost joy. The celebration commenced with the lighting of Dia by our respected Principal Sir.

This was followed by a Bharat Natyam Dance performed by two students of Class UKG which was adorable. An action song was then performed by the students of class 2 gracing the occasion. Next was a speech by Sapna Didi regarding the observance of the festival. The students of class 4 & class 5 then performed a group dance and the rendition of the song was done by the singing group of VKV. Next followed a drama performance by the students of class 4 which was really commendable. After this was a group dance performed by the students of class 6 & class 7 and the conclusion of the entire ceremony was done after the distribution of Prasad.

MADHAVDEV TITHI




Madhavdev tithi was observed today at VKV Golaghat premises with profound joy, a beautiful programme was observed in the primary assembly, 


which commenced with a mellifluous Borgeet by the students of class 4 and 5,following this a speech was delivered by Adrita Rani Hazarika of class 4 and thus this way the observation was concluded.

RAKSHA BANDHAN


The festival of Rakshabandhan was celebrated in the premises of VKV, Golaghat with profound joy. 

A beautiful programme was organised celebrating the occasion which commenced with the lighting of the 'Dia'. The students of class 9 then performed a song gracing the moment with fervour.


Following this a speech was delivered by Saranjit Didi emphasizing the moment of celebration and the importance of Rakhi. After this, a glorious dance performance by the students of class 7 galvanized the entire occasion. 

Further keeping in mind of the yearly ritual performed by the VKV fraternity, the students and the teacher's went to visit different places namely- CRPF CampPolice StationGolaghat JailOrphanage HomeNearby School etc. and tied Rakhi to all concerned.

SCIENCE EXHIBITION


A science exhibition programme was conducted on 25th August 2018, by VKV Golaghat for the students of Classes 6 to 10. The exhibition was viewed upon bringing out the inherent skills of the students and uplifting their knowledge about science. For this purpose the students were categorised into junior and senior sections.

The junior section comprised of the students from classes 6 to 8 and the senior section comprised the students from classes 9 and 10. A total of 33 groups were formed with the junior section consisting of 20 groups and senior section consisting of 13 groups.

The demonstration of the projects received much praise from the scrutinisers and they were much elated of the student’s skills and ideas. Innovative projects such as Rain water harvesting, Energy production from waste materials, Tesla coil for wireless mobile charging received much acclaim along with other projects.

RUBELLA VACCINATION PROGRAMME



A vaccination programme was conducted on 21st of August 2018 in the VKV, Golaghat school premises. The programme laid emphasis on the disease Rubella Measles caused by rubella virus and it was organized by the Health and Family Welfare Departmemt, Govt of Assam.

It was coordinated by Mrs. Lakhi Konwar( L.H.S, SKKCH) and students from class UKG to class VIII were enrolled for it.

The awareness of the disease and its prevention was communicated amongst the students and as many as 1098 of them got enrolled out of which 876 students were vaccinated. The vaccination programme received widespread acclaim from the students and their parents and henceforth the entire VKV, Golaghat fraternity would like to express sincere gratitude to Govt of Assam in this regards.

SOCIAL SCIENCE EXPLORATORY PROJECT



Vivekananda Kendra Shiksha PrasarVibhag, Guwahati recently assigned a SOCIAL SCIENCE EXPLORATORY PROJECT to its students from class 7 to class 11 with a view to providing them an insight into the families of their locality and the functioning of their social structure. The survey was conducted in our school on 20th of August 2018.



With this objective the student of VKV Golaghat school were divided into a group of 10-15 and the total no of groups were 35.

A group teacher was assigned for supervision and the 1st  phase of the project was conducted which emphasized knowing the families of the locality. As many as 21 places were visited during the tour and the students were introduced to different families.

A questionnaire was also provided to each of the students for appraisal. The families were asked several questions regarding their occupation, family members, toilet system, engagement in social activities, agriculture, art& craft etc which inculcated a basic knowledge about their social life, among the students.
The VKV,Golaghat is happy for the smooth conduction of the 1st phase of the social science exploratory project and offers congratulations to the students and teachers for their active participation.

THE 72ND INDEPENDENCE DAY




The 72nd Independence Day was celebrated in the VKV, Golaghat school premises with glittering joy. The auspicious occasion was marked by the presence of the students, teachers and noted dignitaries namely Meera Kulkarni (Praanth Sangathak, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari Assam Pranth), Mr. Ravi Savdwekar (Principal VKV Dibrugarh), Mrs. Lukumoni Borthakur ( Principal VKV Doyang),  & Mr. Tanmay Sarkar (Vice Principal VKV Borgolai).

The celebration was commemorated by Mr Achintya Goswami (Principal VKV Golaghat) hoisting the tricolour. This was followed by a speech from Goswami Sir sharing his valuable views regarding the importance of the day. 

After the conclusion of the speech followed a speech by one of the noted dignitary Meera Kulkarni Ji ( Pranth Sangathak, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Assam Pranth). Next was a beautiful rendition of the patriotic song " Sabse Uchi Vijay Pataka" by the students of Class VIII Vivek.





This invoked a sense of pride, enthusiasm and glorified the entire occasion. The celebration was rejoiced by a gathering of 200 people which included the teachers, students and their parents. Sweets were distributed among the students and the celebration came to an end.



The entire VKV Golaghat fraternity is elated to have learnt that our boys got 3rd  position in the Parade Rally held at general field, Golaghat. The school congratulates them for their achievement and adding glory to its colours.

UNCLE ROBIN BENERJEE’S BIRTH ANNIVERSARY


The birth anniversary of PadmaShri Dr. Robin Banerjee was celebrated in the VKV school premises. The celebration programme started with the tribute paying by the teachers at Robin Banerjee Museum

Following these, some other programmes were held in the school auditorium which started with lighting of Dia by Mrs. Giti Baishya, a welcome song by the students followed by a speech by  Samhita Chanda. 


This was further followed by a poem recitation by Bistirna Kumari followed by an Inter House PowerPoint presentation competition on the theme of Conservation of Wildlife with co-relation to Uncle Robin Banerjee's contribution to wildlife




The programme came to an end with the showing of Dr. Robin Banerjee 's documentary "The Pacific Ocean"
