National Youth Day


The birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda was celebrated as National Youth Day on 12th Jan, 2018. Students and teachers paid Pushpanjali at 16 different locations in and around Golaghat in the morning. Cultural programmes and felicitation of students marked the daylong event. Around 2200 students, parents and well-wishers took Kichidi Prasad at the end.

Bhaona by Class IV students


On the eve of National Youth Day Celebration, Class IV students of VKV Golaghat staged a Bhaona (Sakunir Pratisudh) in the School Auditorium. It may be mentioned, right from the planning to execution level, the entire event was managed by parents of Class IV. The DC of Golaghat, Sri Gaurav Bothra inaugurated the Bhaona on 11 January at 5 pm.

Annual School Week (1st- 10th Jan )


VKV Golaghat organized Annual School Week from 1st to 10th Jan, 2018. The 10 day event was categorized into track & field, Indoor, Outdoor, field events etc.

One of the attractions was the day kept for Parents events. Football (Gents), throw ball (Ladies), Sweet-dishes etc marked the day parents.

Inter-School Badminton Competition


VKV Golaghat organized an Inter-School Badminton Competition for greater Golaghat area on 2nd and 3rd January, 2018 to formally inaugurate the newly constructed indoor badminton court with synthetic turf. Altogether 55 students from seven schools took part in the event which was inaugurated by Dr Ajit Baruah, President Golaghat District Sports Association and former Chairman Golaghat Municipal Board.

Vivekananda Krida Mahotsav Achievement


In the recently concluded inter VKV sports meet (Vivekananda Krida Mahotsav-VKM), VKV Golaghat students performed exceedingly well. In both Table Tanis and Badminton, our students won all four golds in boys and girls categories.

Badminton boys - - Birstinna Bornil Bora, Arshisman Gogoi, Rainham Ahmed
Badminton girls - - Tania bordoloi, Dina Sabri.

TT boys - - Kumar Arnov, Mrinmoy Dutta, Aryan Ahmed.
TT girls - - Jyogyta Gogoi, Praptipriya Sarma.

In chess boys, Sarthak BAISHYA (VIII) of VKV Golaghat won silver. Kanandeep Kaur (VI) won bronze and silver in 100m and 200m race respectively.

With four Gold, two Silver and one bronze, VKV Golaghat was adjudged as Best Sports Team in the entire event.

Total 20 VKVs from Assam and Nagaland took part in the six-day event. This eight edition of VKM was jointly held in VKV Bargolai (Margherita) and Tingrai from 11-16 Nov 2017.
